We are producers and directors of tv commercials.

The company was formed in 2004 by Mark Hanrahan who was previously Head of TV Production for Saatchi & Saatchi London.

We represent a mix of directors across all genres of filmmaking from live-action through to animation and everything in-between.

Animation

Our executive producer for animation is Alan Dewhurst, producer of Peter & The Wolf which won the 2008 Oscar for Best Animated Short Film. Previously Alan spent 15 years at the top end of commercials production, first with Richard Williams Animation, then as co-founder and joint managing director of Passion Pictures.

Alan's panoramic knowledge of animation styles and talent means we can also source directors, designers, and other animation artists who may be perfect for a particular project, but who might not otherwise be represented for commercials in particular markets. For example we recently worked with Evgeni Tomov, production designer of the Oscar-nominated Belleville Rendezvous and Universal's forthcoming Tale of Despereaux

We also have a company in Cape Town. Knowing price is constantly a challenge, HANraHAN SA enables you to have access to UK based Directors
& Producers at South African prices.

You pay one mark-up not two, we don't employ a local service Production Company, and as a consequence, you get one production team who manage the whole project from recce and casting, the shoot in SA through to the end stages of post production and broadcast (wherever that
may be).

We have produced many jobs through our Cape Town company, at various times of the year, in studio and on location.

New Directors

We are committed to introducing exciting new directorial talent to the advertising market. We aim to find and help develop the next generation
of top commercials directors for you to consider. With our experienced producers to guide them we can offer you an alternative and more cost effective route to get your production made.

We have proven success with launching new talent. A good example would be David Edwards. He joined us at the tender age of 27 in 2006 and together we produced his first spot, a spec ad for Adidas. This resulted in Shots Magazine featuring him as a 'face to watch'. Since then David has gone from strength to strength and is now shooting regularly.
